Picking up a new car

Featured Replies

Well just off to threewaysgarage in Abergele to pick up my new generation Hyundai i10 premium spec model and wondering what should I look for ? , I'm going to check oil for a start and paint work however I don't want it to look as if I'm checking their work and not trusting them though , will post pics of her when she arrives :) for those who want a look ;)

how old is it? i go round the body work with any car with a magnet wrapped in a microfiber cloth see if its had any body filler repairs

You say 'new'. Brand new, or?

Dont worry about looking like you don't trust them, you've got to make sure its right for you, once you've accepted it, its yours.

Cant trust anybody when buying/selling cars IMO.

Brand new :)

Make sure all the wheel bolts are in tight, esp if they've just fitted locking nuts.

You check and set your own tyre pressures.

&

what you find when checking the Tyre Pressures as set or left at by the Fitter / Technician doing the PDI gives some idea of how diligent they were.

Enjoy the new car.

Been told to remove the locking nuts and replace with the proper nut due to hassle with them

Two weeks after I got my VRS I noticed one of the locking bolts was missing.

Service receptionist said it must have been nicked and said I was just trying to get another one for nothing.... :dull:

Because locking wheel nut theft without taking the wheel is a common thing? Haha

I was unamused that I'd just spent £17k on a car and was being accused of that never mind that during the PDI they either hadn't fitted the bolt or hadn't tightened it. If I hadn't been so stunned I would have cause a bit of a scene.

Sales manager apologised later.
