This weekend we were on a trip to Brittany and the battery went dead ( daughter put the Air Con on without engine running - didn't realise). We got the car jump started and managed to board the ferry home by the skin of our teeth. Now the glow plug light and the engine light are flashing each time the car starts and do not go out - is there a major problem?

 

Secondly a very kind Frenchman tried to bump start the car for me and moved the seat drivers seat forward, it is now stuck and will not adjust to enable a taller driver. Do I need a new seat or is there a way it can be freed?

 

Any advice on either issue would be welcome.

The release arm should enable drivers seat to travel in either direction.

As to the lights flashing, can only guess the new battery when refitted may not have accepted by the on-board car management system ??
