A few questions - mk 3 octy l&k

Featured Replies

I have a 2013 mk2 vrs diesel estate and its great, i really couldn't think of a better car for the 18k i paid for it new however the lack of refinement and toys is starting to grate on me a little after about 18mths of ownership.

I have been considering loping towards audi/bmw/merc as an upgrade but to get a lot of kit they are so bloody expensive! So my thoughts turn to a mk3 L&K which i still think are over priced but might be more reasonable if a good discount could be achieved. So a few questions then.

1) is the mk3 more refined in terms of tyre roar etc than the mk2 and is it really noticeable?

3) What sorts of discounts could be achieved on an L&K?

4) is the 1.4 150hp act engine ever likely to be available in this model?

5)is there likely to be any other interior colour options available such as black or black with ivory seats? (i don't like the brown)

6)What sorts of discounts will be available on extras? metallic/columbus nag/full leather?

This mean be an incredibly stupid question, so forgive me in advance. When i lived in the UK, I bought my new car through a broker (Broadspeed.com)

On the Diesel fwd L&K they price at £23895. You' may be able to achieve more by shopping around brokers. Might be best looking for new cars already available cancelled orders/ demos etc. Lots of options included and you avoid the wait for it to be built.

1, It is more refined but its not amazing in terms of its competitors comparative refinement imo.

2, not sure what happened to your number 2!

3, £3,500 + on the L&K currently

4, If it gets introduced I doubt it will be in the very near future but they may well decide its refined enough for the L&K (which it is imo). Its a decision for Skoda UK really, the importers.

5, I'd say not but its another SUK issue - looking at other L&K models (Superb and Yeti for example) its brown or nothing. Do take a look at it though in the real world - don't just go by photos before making your mind up.

6, No reason why the same discount cant be applied to the extras as to the negotiated car discount (see 3)

I think the popularity of the Octavia 3 has caught Skoda off guard, demand is such that deliveries on VRS and L&K can stretch beyond 6 months (in spite of what the dealer says to your face) and this buoyancy in demand works against you when negotiating price. That said, tomorrow is the first day of Q4. Apparently Skoda will release details of their new promotions tomorrow.

With regards to cars with DSG, doe they all come with steering wheel paddles or are they am optional extra?

£100 optional extra for the 3 spoke steering wheel with DSG paddles on the L&K

You won't achieve anything like £3.5k discount on a L&K if you are opting for the subsidised low rate finance and the free servicing. I would expect that you will achieve £2k. And if you are trading in, if you get a good discount you will just get what the dealer stands your car at as a p/ex, i.e. bottom book.

£3.5k is achievable on cash deals though.

Be prepared for a 3-5 month wait for a L&K as well, unless you choose one that the dealer has already ordered and can tweak to suit your options.

BUT the deals change tomorrow ..........

Oh, and the brown is nothing like the brochure pictures - when I saw one in the flesh I couldn't tell from the outside that the Alcantara was brown!

Cheers I am just considering things at the moment. not even decided if i really want a new car.

If i do make another purchase though it will be a cash purchase, i hate having finance and won't buy anything unless i can save for it.

Only the VRS have the paddles i believe, my neighbour has a yeti L&K and there are no paddles

It is an option on the O3 L&K, by the looks of it you get the non-flat bottom 3 spoke MFSW, same as I currently have in my Elegance O3 DSG, where it was an option as well.
