Yes it does.

Just come back from my local stealer, typically they know very little up front, Skoda will release info very late this month.

heading to see dealer tomorrow all being well, so BUMP for info if anyone knows!

Christmas week is the best time to order a car. As long as you are keeping for a few years the "year old" within a week makes no difference to you.

Ordered mine christmas week, got it for the new march plate, great deal and better than expected residuals as the price had increased for Q1 Y2014 so, one very happy bunny.

well, called in today, but dealer is unaware of any forthcoming deals, so waiting on a callback on Wednesday, as that will either make or break the deal.  Will update if I find out any sooner

They normally get notified on the day that the deals go live, to stop any messing about with them either delaying orders or pressurising prospective purchasers, depending on which way the deals go .........

Two days...

Keep us updated on what the deals are please. So far I have discovered that dealers in this area don't want to sell me a new car, no one has replied to my enquiries. Never had this response before and I am now on my 6th new Octavia, may try another brand and see what their reaction is.

Cheers for that Andy, quite surprised by that, I used to work for a Toyota Dealership and we usually knew the deals around a week before they changed, certainly a day or two in advance.

Will do, you should try maybe Drivethedeal or similar, you will get a price pretty much immediately and then they will put you through to a dealer!

When I worked for Vauxhall they came through late afternoon of the day before, but that was normally by fax with the hard copy in the post LOL!

Thanks for that, could be the way to go but I would like to test drive an Elegance 1.4 DSG before I buy, so far none of the dealers have offered that, I did get a ride in a second-hand 2.0 TDI not quite the same. A test drive in any 1.4 DSG Octavia would help.

That's a little specific... admittedly you should be able to test drive a 1.4 DSG, but not necessarily in Elegance spec.  Unfortunately, though, it all depends on what the dealers have in stock, and if none have any 1.4 DSG cars, then you're out of luck.

C'mon VAT discounts...

2k discount and 0% on a new Scout.....yeah right. :(

they are available from brokers with almost 4k discount so not too dissimilar to the offer you suggest in terms of overall savings :)

Well, if I can get anywhere near that sort of deal, I'll have two!

3.5-4k off is quite usual for a top end Octy tbh. Will be interesting to see what Skoda Uk offer on the q4 campaigns. :)

Fingers crossed fella.

Its pretty much irrelevant what SUK are offering when most savvy customers can usually find a dealer to price match DTD, Carfile et al. I don't get why people expect SUK to offer best deal on a plate, just get a broker quote, ring 3 dealers, tell them straight that the first to ring you back with a price match will get your order, but make sure you are not time wasting cos they are not daft.

But all the 3-4k off deals aren't attached to cheap finance offers. Tough to get a decent discount and 0% right now :(

That is because the dealer pays the interest on your finance out of their own pocket!

It isn't rocket science - get the best cash price and see what you can borrow the money for from a bank, and compare that monthly payment to the best discount you can get on the 0% (or low rate).

At the end of the day all you are looking at is the monthly payment whichever way you stack the deal.

I would suggest that if you are expecting £4K discount, 0% and free servicing that you can't afford the car .............

Sounds like you want a bit of cake and eat it, when I got my Octy III, the SUK deal was £500 deposit and free servicing I got this on top of a 12% discount based on price matching carfile, so all in about £4k of discounts/incentives. I also paid off the SUK finance immediately with a low rate loan from my mortgage provider at 3.1% apr but kept the SUK incentives. When the 0% and free servicing deal came along, it transpired that the best discount was reduced to 5%, or 6% if you were a good haggler, so about £2k of discount/incentives assuming servicing costs £500 and based on list price of £24k, hence £1,500 discount compared to my £3k deal. Based on financing £21k over 5 years @ 3.1% apr, I will pay £1,630 interest, so the 0% deal is effectively worth £3,630 total discount/incentive.

Basically, which ever way you wrap it up, there is about 16% up for grabs by my reckoning, so do the man maths but don't get too greedy and you can't go wrong!

Well it's not a question of affordability really as I have already got a car. Just pointing out that there's not as much room for negotiating as there is with other manufacturers.

For example Ford will easily offer you almost £6k off a new £23k Focus or Audi will take the same discount off a £25k A4

I don't see why you are being belligerent.
