Another issue with my car post DMF fit

Featured Replies

On my 05 plate Octavia DSG (BKC 1.9 PD TDI) the DMF has been changed, along with a CV Gaitor which split

Inspected the DMF before fitting, first part was faulty (had more play in it than the old one, had the part returned and got another one

Runs smoother, but still get the shaking that I had before once up to around 70ish. This has lead me to believe that it is not the DMF as no clatter is evident. I plan to get the front two tyre's done and have it balanced to see if this is the problem.

If that doesn't solve it, what can others suggest. Wouldn't think it would be lose mounting bolts as it did this before and after the DMF was fitted.

No warning lights or anything like that.

Help would be appreciated

Don't bother with just getting the front alignment checked. Find someone local that does proper 4 wheel alignment.

The Octavia is well known to have alignment problems causing tyre wear and noise.

Booked into Tyre shop to get two news tyer's along with Balancing, Tracking and Wheel Alignment on all four wheels.

I will report back, hopefully solves the issue, as putting a few more hundred miles on it over the weekend

Many Thanks everyone.

Car all running perfectly (or near enough). New Tyres, wheel alignment done and balancing, new DMF and CV Gaitor. Took it down from Cheltenham to Plymouth and it went like a train. Slight rattle at a certain RPM, but pretty sure that is the exhaust and nothing major
