I've made 1000's on online transfers, even on a sunday they go more or less instant. The only one I've known to take longer was one that got flagged as fraud, I'm assuming because it was for a few k. Still, it only took a hour or so to sort out on the phone. 

I've now paid a deposit on a private buy (with no outstanding finance).

Deposit transfer was flagged as 'fraudulent' and had to be sorted out next day. The seller is now listed as being a non-fraudulent recipient and all should go smoothly on Saturday when I have to pay the remainder of the balance.
