Blue disc

Featured Replies

Well son has just removed pads due to some squeeking and cleaned all the pads and disc applied anti squel on the pads , however we've noticed that both discs are blueish and some hairline surface cracks on the pads , so new pads and disc on order , this montes a bit of a jinx

check the caliper moved easily on the slides, as a few have seen sticky slides causing

Blueing is a result of the disc overheating, I'd put this down to something sticking and the cracks are likely to be caused by heat! I'd check the slider bolts and use white grease on them as well as checking the piston

Yes all now have been properly greased and should be fine but these will come off and replaced with new disc and pads

Some days i have very Blue Discs after someone has been driving my car.

When i drive it, they never are blue,

because i use the gears and very seldom on the brakes, and am never constantly on them and then off and on the brakes again,

up others jacksy etc.

Not saying i drive better or slower, but i just do not have the brake discs glowing then turning blue.

Exactly same as trucks have exhaust brakes to avoid stress on the normal brakes! I use gears where possible, saves me having to change the brakes ;)
