Brought the car from the showroom yesterday....Any advice?

Featured Replies

Well i finally took delivery of my black vRS yesterday from the dealer,in horrible weather( it has been pouring in Delhi for the past 3 days).

Couldnt test much although did manage to make the back end step out on the first corner i came across on these drenched roads :) .

First impressions are good, i think this is the start of a long love affair. Although the car ride is bumpy on our poor Indian roads. Friends on the back seat were complaining a lot. But then I dont care, I mostly dont let more than two ppl in my car and that includes me.

I'm looking at a custom code remap and probably a miltek exhaust, but warranty is an issue. So maybe just the remap for now and further mods later.

Any advice from other owners is earnestly sought regarding running in and any general information on treating a virgin car right.

Congrats, Sam. Do place a plastic sheet under the floor mats. Otherwise the white carpet will look ugh in no time and its almost impossible to completely remove mud stains. The paint is extremely "soft". You will get fine marks on it regardless of the cloth used, especially if your car is black or red colour. These marks are visible under a fluroscent lamp. Unfortunately, in India no one has heard of micro fibre cloth. I have heard that BPCL has launched 97 octane petrol in Delhi. This should make it possible to remap the car to its original 180BHP? Bomi.

97 octane fuel could see 200bhp.

Bomi: Micro Fibre is available from 3m in india. A set of three cloths cost around Rs.500.

Already ordered them from my local accessory dealer.

and yes BPCL has launched 97 octane in delhi :) :)

Already in talks with custom code to remap it to 210 BHP.

Already acheived 200 Km/h in the city at 2 am. Brilliant would have gone more but i pulled it back. Not wise to go faster after 4 large ones of Finlandia :)

Sam, can you provide the contact for micro fibre cloth? I am in Delhi too. 2 am huh? You are living up to Autocarindia's review which said the vRS will make you rise early to drive it.

Bomi: I'm getting it through the honda dealership in South Delhi. the dealer's name is South End Honda. Talk to Saurabh Maini there.Tel No for the dealer is 29894600.

I went there today to pick it up but unfortunately they were out of stock. It'll take 2 days to get it. Apparently 3m is only marketing microfibre cloths for cars thru the car dealer network only. I have not been able to verify this claim, but the guy who fits my car audio setup said he too can get them. U might want to contact him too. He's near Nehru Place. Get in touch with Yogesh, tel no. 26431111. give him my reference, My name is Sameer. Best of luck in your endeavor.

By the way what's your home city?

Thanks, Sam. Spoke to Saurabh and he promised to call when he is in stock. I am in Gurgaon.
