Potential new DMF issues

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, recently (2 months ago) had a replacement gearbox fitted along with a new clutch and dmf kit. It all works fine but have had the following issues:

1. Since it was fitted there has been a slight wobble/jitter at idle as engine warms up (raise the revs by 50rpm and it goes away). Goes away completely when warm.

2. But once warm, there is a clattery/chattery noise during slow speed (1,2 and 3) gear changes as the revs drop whilst clutch is disengaged.

At first it only had the idle issue but i thought it would go away as it 'bedded in', But the gear change noise then arose and wont go away. I had a few issues with the garage in past (fitted cheap parts that broke within months and always get the feeling i'm being fobbed off). So im wondering do i go back to them and get them to investigate and change parts for better ones? This could take a while and end up costing me if its a gearbox issue. Or is this just normal??

Anyone experienced this with cheap dmf's??

Thanks in advance :)

Sounds like mine. Had a genuine LUKs kit go in, trusted mechanic but sounds different to stock. Mines been the same for circa 30K. Had the car in another garage recently as had turbo boost issues with a new turbo. Asked them to check DMF etc and reported it's fine.

Ahh yeah it doesnt affect the way it drives at all, so i'm sure it must be the same kit, LUKs rings a bell. Cheers
