Should I be worried?

Featured Replies

Hello all,

After my car has been sat for an extended period of time, such as over night or all day whilst i am at work, i seem to going a whine or high pitched 'woooo' coming from the turbo for say 100 meters after the car is started and then it disappears completely. Ive tried a search but not come across anything similar, could this be a sign the turbo is on the way out?

Thanks,

Ben.

It's common on most cars with a turbo. My TT is louder first thing in the morning (as it's cold overnight). But once it's going it's quieter, or at least as quiet as it's going to be with an S2000 air filter and Catback.

A knackered turbo sounds like a dentist drill usually.
