Hello I am considering buying a 2013 vrs was looking at cars the corsa vxr and fiesta St the vxr Doesn't suit my needs due to the three doors as I have a german shepherd that has too go on the back seat with the window down to prevent him being sick the St is 17k plis only 3 doors which leaves me with the vrs how ever j have got a few questions

What are they like to live with are they as cheap as they seem too run?

Can I add some chrome to the interior it's very black ?

Does anyone own both a fabia vrs and a German shepherd ?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum.

Is it a MK2 Fabia vRS you are thinking of?

They are cheap to run.

Estates are pretty popular but not plentyful.

I see a Blue 14 Plate Estate for sale with John Clark, Skoda Specialist Cars.

You really want to run on Tesco Momentum 99 or Shell V-Power Nitro,

The Insurance is usually cheaper than similar cars with around 180 ps.

From 2010 - 2014 the Manufacturers Warranty is 3 Years, unless the Original Owner Extended it to 4 or 5 years.

At 3 Year old, you can buy a 'Skoda Approved Extended Warranty'.  1 year or 2 Years.   * 2 Years is £547 Currently.*

(In Dundee, ask Daniella on the Service Desk about it, she will tell you all you need to know.)

2 Different engines  fitted with MK2 Fabia vRS,

June 2010 - Late 2012 CAVE 1.4 TSI,

the one that has had a 20% or Greater failure rate from the 1,800 cars sold in the UK, many required Replacement Engines,

some have had more than 1 replacement engine.

There are many good ones out there, but some that still have issues or yet to have the issue dealt with.

Late 2012-2013 there is the Revised and Improved Engine, 1.4 TSI CTHE. (Locked ECU.  so can not be Remapped)

About 1,200 sold in the UK.

You want to buy one of those, get the Remainder of the Original Warranty,    **Unless you know what you are looking for on a 2010-2012 car.**

the 12 Months Skoda Approved Car Warranty if you are buying from a Skoda Dealer.

Then when it Expires you can buy a 'Skoda Approved Extended Warranty.

Have the Skoda Dealership print off the Warranty History for the car you are looking at buying.

If it has the Dark Chrome Gigaro Wheels,

inspect them closely to see there is no 'White Spider' / Corrosion under the Lacquer.

If there is point it out and say it will need new wheels,  Before you collect it, They are a Warranty Thing.

If the car is Sitting on Skoda Specialist Car , John Clark Group, or anyone elses. forecourt with Disc Brakes already Pitted or scored and not

just Cosmetic Surface Rust,

say you want New Discs fitted, not Skimmed ones or just cleaned up.  Or given an Italian Tune up.

(Taken out and the brakes used hard a few times.)

Not that they would ever do that !!!!
