Fabia vRS headlight bulbs

Featured Replies

I have noticed now I am driving the car more at night that there are a couple of bulbs in my headlights that I do not seem to work and look like dummy lights. They are the small blade fit type bulbs on the inside closest to the grille. What ever type of setting I have the lights on they do not light up and look like 'dummy' ones. All the other bulbs work etc just not these 2.

I forgot to add I have a vRS with the black pack headlights.

There are Dummy Blue bulbs in each headlight unit.

This is because your Side Lights are the Dual use DRL Units on less bright as Sidelights.

& this is also the Parking Light at the front when you use that with the Indicator down.

Many thanks.

I have seen a lot of monte carlos where they are lit and now it all makes sense why.

They are wired up in the Monte Carlo's as they use a different fog/drl light unit to the VRS.  Probably more versatile as well, as I cant imagine the led's in the VRS make very good fog lights?

No they do not make good fog lights because they are not they can only be on as sidelights when you wants lights to the rear

which are going to be required in Fog, or poor visibility conditions.   (You can have DRL's enabled & Rear Lights, but that is not how they come from the Factory)

So no fog lights to the front on a vRS.

When you switch on the Side Lights they go less bright, as happens when you put on Dipped Full beam and your Rear Lights,

which are required to be on to be able to have the Rear Fog light illuminated.
