Re map

Featured Replies

Hello, little advise on Re-maps please, car in question mk 2 1.9TDI PD 105bhp. my last car was a 130bhp PD which was plenty and a nice drive so im looking at a re map, it seems that 140bhp is the norm on this engine which im guessing would improve the drivability no end?

My concerns are what implications this will put on other bits such as the clutch or turbo? The car is an 08 plate with FSH and Cambelt water pump replaced at 60k car now on 80k. I certainly dont drive hard, after all would have purchased something else if this is what i wanted just be nice to get back that mid range punch that was great on the 130bhp mk 1.

i have been looking at other posts on this subject but just find it all so confusing. just wondered if anyone that has remapped this model and what sort of miles you had at the time?  May thanks.

Cheers Mike very helpful, sounds like the route I shall be taking. And yeah Shark sounds like the way to go from everything I have been reading.

+1 for Shark!

I have a 07 Vrs on 125,000 miles ( diesel ) and have a Stage 1 map courtesy of Shark.

I have covered many, many thousands of miles over months and months. I'm running a whoppin' 210bhp and when up to correct temps I drive her very hard daily high speeds ( motorways ) and high revs ( love my overtakes ) as well as track days.

I am still on original clutch and turbo with no signs of failure - in my experience Shark give the safest maps out there while still giving you the full potential of your engine with a very smooth power delivery/curve.

So if you get her mapped by Shark don't worry about if you want to give your car some! Have fun and enjoy :)

I would recommend Shark for your remap requirements.
