Kyle_vrs corsa sri cdti

Featured Replies

Have had my fabia vRS for 2 years and was looking for a corsa van for work and let the wife have the fabia. Anyway came across a stage 2 octavia vrs that the wife loved so bought that. Anyway had a big company go bust I used to do a lot of work for so swapped the octy with my younger brother in law for his corsa sri cdti.

It's a 54 plate on 107k good history. It's ultra blue which I love but it had a black bonnet on and no fogs. It was slammed on coilovers, no adjusters the wheels were up in the arches the lot. It's also got a straight through exhaust so makes that owl noise when you change gear.

Anyway the night I got it I swapped the bonnet with a lad for the right colour one. I also put the adjusters in and raised it. Still quite low I might go higher but I really want standard shocks and lowering springs. The wheels have been powder coated black and look awesome so will probably leave these and they've got shotgun shells over the wheel bolts. Also put the front fogs in, not sure why they were took out actually as they all fit ok and are in good condition.

Only pic I've got and didn't take any when I first got it as I was abit gutted I had to get rid of the octy but I'm quite liking it now even if it is abit 17 year olds car but I'm sure by the time I've finished it will look better.

Plans are irmscher double d exhaust to hopefully get rid of that owl noise, standard shocks and lowering springs and I might change all the dash bulbs to green to match my stereo

Z17DTH? I do like Ultra Blue, same colour as my mums 1.2 SXI

Yeah that's the engine you can't remap them though :( something about you cant get into the denso ecu. Nowhere near as refined or as powerful as the fabia but it's ok.

I love the colour too, looked shocking with the black bonnet though. I quite fancy the wheels white but they'd be a nightmare to keep clean so if I do spray them they'll go silver

Have those engines in the vans that I've had, there is one place that can remap iirc but I'd guess as only the one it's quite expensive but they can be tuned up, I'd just stick a DTUK box on it :)

Looked at Corsa leathers yet? :)

It's got half leathers as standard :) seen some with cloth seats and others with full leathers so abit of a lottery as to what interior they have. I quite like the half leathers so unless some full ones come up very cheap I'll stick with what's in it. Those tuning boxes seem quite dear too but I might stalk eBay for one and see how it is

Yeah meant to be a 30bhp gain but more useable power :) they do go quite well for what they are, my second to last Combo had full Leathers in it and was so nice to drive, double din bluetooth stereo with 6 speaker system, Corsa C Leather steering wheel, got some alloys that I was going to fit to it before it was in a rather nasty crash!

If like to try one of these mapped up and see what it's like. I'm not sure what to do about wheels, I do quite like these but with it being 5 stud I could go for snowflakes or some other nice wheels. I prefer the corsa van, not keen of how high the combo is although when they're done they do look good

Yeah I got some silver snowflakes but keeping them as I plan to have another Combo shortly, they're easy to lower as they run Astra rear suspension and Corsa fronts so just get the lowering springs etc

Took some pics of it yesterday, it's filthy but I'm off to clean it now

How's it going mate?

How's it going mate?

I really haven't updated this in ages lol. Found out it has been remapped, the old owner rang my brother in law to see if he could buy it back and he asked him if it definitely was and he confirmed. To be fair it's not too bad but nowhere near as quick as the fabia. Fitted a k&n cone filter and put a irmscher twin round back box on, it's got rid of the owl noise and gives a nice "tish" from the cone filter when you change gear so I'm happy with that.

The biggest update though is........ It's now a van :D I was going to get the metal van panels but they were £160 then I'd have to get them painted etc so instead I want to a sign writing company and had the side windows vinyl'd the same colour as the car and then had the company name and number over it and the name across the back window. The vinyl is slightly darker but not really that noticeable, tinted the back window too but need to get it done properly as there's a few creased around the edges.

Put some pirellis on the front, replaced both track rod ends and had tracking done and that's about it. Oh got hid's in now but need to clean my headlights as they're cloudy.

You still got a combo?

My dads still running my one around but I'm not using it for now. Who mapped it, very interested in it. We've got 280 brakes on the Combo with uprated pads, looking for some shocks, fitting a bigger intercooler and maybe turbo work,

Is yours 5 stud too? I think mine comes with 280mm standard but I want to upgrade mine with meriva vxr carriers and discs and pads as my callipers will fit those carriers. There are never any merivas being broke for parts though so I really need to ring vauxhall and price the carriers up.

Can't remember who he said mapped it, someone in Leeds I think but I drove a combo and astra van with same engine and it does pull a lot better.

Anyway I found some pics and took one as a van. Parked up waiting to go and have windows done, last pic as a car

Then decided it needed more writing and my number on the sides so took it for that. Also tinted the rear window

You can see the marks on the rear window I need to get it done professionally really. Also cleaned my drivers headlight with toothpaste as it was really cloudy. Before

Better but not perfect but for 75p it's worth doing :D don't know if a headlight restorer kit is worth buying??

Yes mate, 5 stud. Got some DS2500 pads going in the stock brakes so will tell you how they go.

The headlamp restoring kit will probably sort that but it's cheaper to buy all of the elements for it seperately

I forgot you were 5 stud you had the vxr wheels on didn't you? Yeah let us know what the pads are like I might invest in some, how much are they? What is in the kit? I can get the drill rubbing pad thing then is it just the solution?

Decided to get cruise control after finding out the cdti corsas have all the wiring and clutch pedal switch fitted so only needed a indicator stalk and it turning on. Seen the stalks going for upto £50 on the bay so was well chuffed to get one for a tenner!! Went to a guy in sheffield for it turning on for £25 so all done and dusted for £35 which I thought was a bargain. Love having it on makes it such a relaxed drive on the motor way.

Also did a oil and filter change and a fuel filter change over the weekend and checked it all out

The last one did yeah and they're somewhere about. Yeah get drill pad and some cutting compound. Don't know, I've not driven it and it's lunched the engine mate. Wouldn't mind cruise control but in the van it's a pita

If it's a cdti it should have the clutch pedal switch and wiring there. Easiest way to tell is take the steering wheel surround off and see if there's 3 or 4 wires going to the indicator stalk. If it's 4 you just need the cruise control indicator stalk.

It's an anomaly with Combos :( according to the Vx retrofitting genius
