Diesel additives - do not store in direct sunlight!

Featured Replies

Almost had an explosion! Left my Millers Diesel additive from TRAX on my windowsill after TRAX.... Came to it later that day and the bottle had started swelling out and was under the kind of pressure when you shake up a 2 litre bottle of coke!

Thought leaving it out of sunlight for a few days might settle it down... nope. So I just had to do a controlled explosion outside - no harm done but 25% of the bottle went down the drain after spurting out the top. :grumpy:

So when there's a tiny little warning saying DO NOT STORE IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT

DO IT! Keep it in the garage, your toolbox, the FRIDGE ffs, just not in direct sun.

so the people that picked an explosion in the workshop just missed out then :P

 Not far off. It would have been an explosion in the bedroom though! I just dread to think of the mess! Mate had a can of coke explode in his Jag center console pocket! Took ages to clean up the interior! All over the roof lining, glass and everything. :)

Suffice to say my Millers is now in a dark place.

I chcuked a can of coke in the freezer for 10 minutes to chill it quickly.

Trouble is I forgot to fish it out for 3 days and when I did it was quite a mess in there. Frozen coke all over the inside coating everything and a very badly shredded can!

Glad to know I'm not the only one then. :D Obviously in the Jag it was direct sunlight again and a rapidly heating up car which blew it up. I remember putting a beer in the freezer to do the same as you and I forgot about it for 30 minutes.... Suiffice to say it was kind of "shivering" when I fished it out but it was the coldest beer I'd ever drunk. Must have been borderline explsion too.

Did that with a bottle of wine. Stuck it in for 10 minutes, then something happened, dashed out and came back to glass all over the freezer!

I've seen a can of Lynx deoderant left on a locker room window, we threw that about as far as we could, it was hot to the touch and was close to being a grenade!

Brianiac - Science abuse :)
