First time down the quarter mile.

Featured Replies

Managed to get the the drag strip for the first time today ! Wasn't expecting much as it was very foggy and damp all morning. Started clearing up at about 2 ish and the strip dries out. Started off with lots of wheel spin resulting in a 15.6368- bearing in mind it was my first ever run. Improved greatly over the course of the day constantly getting into the 14's after my third run. Best i managed was 14.7430 which I was well chuffed with. Went out hoping to get into the 14's and I did. Managed to get infront of everything I raced off the line untill about half way where the faster cars would come past. Beat a MK5 R32 and a 230bhp mk1 Octy vrs which I was happy with as well.

Overall, a good day !

Impressive times mate!

Good 1/4 mile terminal speed :)

Remember last time I went years ago my bruv in law in his Pro Drive Performance pack Impreza Turbo could never get over 100mph terminal speed, that was circa 280bhp.

The 4 wheel drive acceleration means you do faster quarters which means you get lower terminals.  It's why I still do mid 13s but go over the line at 115mph.  Two wheel drive sucks for launching.

What specs are you running in your car?

I struggled to get better than the mid 15s when I went to Santa Pod. Couldn't get off the line.

It's got a PD150 turbo, FMIC, decat and mufflerectomy and a ram air cone filter. Only on a safe map at the minute as well as I didn't have a front mount when I first got the turbo on, but the seals are dead in the turbo lol. It's only running around 180-185ish my mapper reckons.

Not bad that though.

Tyres? Standard road rubber?

Yeh Parada's on front not exactly the best, had them at 20 psi today try get a bit more grip

Paradas have good dry grip but I'll never use them on the road again, simply dangerous in the wet. :(
