Fabia 1.4 16v Trip ODO and SRI reset after ignition switched off

Featured Replies

Hi,

Really odd one this, battery went flat after car was stood up for a bit. Put a new battery on and had a few faults which I cleared and everything now runs and drives fine except for one thing.

It always says "Oil Service", I have reset using VAGCOM and the manual method using the ignition and the ODO switch, clears the service indicator. Drive the car, Trip ODO goes up, switch it off and back on, ODO is reset and SRI is back on.

Tried loads of combos, can always reset SRI fine but always comes back on.  All the fuses for the dash and ECU car fine and the car works perfectly in all other ways.

Is there another fuse somewhere I am missing?

Have checked the fuses and fusable links in the battery cover as well, all good.

VAGCOM randomly grumbles about an ABS controller but never throws a ECU light on.

As far as I know, there are multiple service warnings, related to distance, time, for oil, inspection and stuff like this. If you reset it via VCDS, make sure you're doing it right. I had to play about 5 minutes for a friend's Polo and reset each one of that fields on order to get rid of that warning .. for good.

Have gone through each of the values and reset them manually a couple of times. No change. Service Indicator comes back on.

So what about the odometer which resets every time the ignition is switched off? I think this has a part to play.
