For future reference (and partly for me as well as I tend to forget specifics), the fault with this unit is as I suspected and is the motherboard corrupted. RNS service tools won't help, and there are two eeproms on the main board which require desoldering, reflashing, and resoldering. Then reassemble the unit, reload the firmware, recode the mainboard to the units specification, reload the maps, and that should be good to go.

 

Essentially, it's a new main board or scrap. :peek:
