Oil in Asda.

Featured Replies

went in Asda this morning. New line, own brand fully synthetic oil for vw, seat, skoda spec 504/507, 5ltrs-£26, 2.ltrs -£14. seems a good deal.

Sounds good for a 6 monthly change regime.

Perfect for annual changes / 9,400 miles (10,000 miles) or even longer.

Interesting that Asda's "own brand" has been type approved  to meet  VW / Skoda Spec.

So who makes it?

Its going to be nice Oil Producers that make other 'No Name' brands that can be equal to the 'Big Brand' Oils.

If a National Supermarket Corporation tells you to meet a certain Spec, & to meet,  VW, BMW.  Merc etc, then it better had.

Its not like 'Own Brand' Fish Fingers or Beans.

Reading all the oil posts, I assume this is ok oil for my 2008 Pd 105 roomster and also the newer CR diesels.

Yes, VW 507.00 oil is the highest specification oil available for VAG.

It is 5W30 long life, low ash (for DPF's in diesels) and is fully synthetic.

Just about to do an oil and filter change myself... Quite tempted by that as it's bloody cheap!

Just looking on the Asda website and all I can find is this 5W30, but it doesn't list VW507 spec!

How much horse does it have in it though George?

:hi:

Just called in local asda superstore, too k me twenty minutes to find it, meets all the specs, 5W-30, 507 VW Approved. Good buy

I must have a look then, for this kind of money...

Have seen 1litre bottles today in Asda £7.50.

5 litres for £26 seems a better buy

My vRS burns so much oil that the oil is always fresh, so it's off to Asda for me. I'm doing an oil change every 3,500 miles.

Just looking on the Asda website and all I can find is this 5W30, but it doesn't list VW507 spec!

It’s a new product line and comes in a purple bottle (specially marketed at VAG cars) so it probably won't be online yet, but had a look the other day in store and it meets 507 spec
