hello,

 

having major issues with my car right now, i recently blew the speedo after fitting new SMD's changing the colour to blue, just about to finish and had one SMD left an went to test on car and the whole speedo had blew so i count start my car nothing was shown on the speedo it was dead.

 

so i got on ebay and ordered a speedo from an identical car ( fabia comfort 1.4 8V ) 

 

i have followed the rosstech guides to programming a Speedo with no luck

 

firstly where do i get the engine log in pin

 

i have the new speedo pin ( used Vag Tacho to get this)

 

i just can't get the immo to work  i have bought new transponders and had no luck coding them to the car, sometimes the immo light on the new speedo goes off but as soon as you take the key out and back in the light is back on -_- 

 

this is really getting to me now, so any help would be highly appreciated 

What did you blow on your original board? It's odd that you can kill the whole board with changing a few LEDs..

All I changed was the SMD's for the speedo, Rev meter, fuel and temp changed them to blue and the last SMD on the fuel is where it all went wrong the board was working as I was checking each time I changed an led

Could it just be an led that failed? If you plug it in is it just the LEDs that don't come on or is it the whole thing that doesn't work?

the whole lot of the cluster, the milage, gauges and lights for airbag, lights etc nothing on it works, its so annoying although sometimes you get a yellow warning light ( EPC ) but that is the only sign of life 

just had a go in the fabia again, to notice when using vids there is a difference with the diagnostic log's, the speedo controller is the same but the component on the new one is 

Component: KOMBIINSTRUMENT VDO V07​on the old diagnostic log the component is:Component: KOMBIINSTRUMENT VDO V08

​does anyone know what this means? will i need a new speedo or is it something i can code?
