Leather seat bolster wear on vrs

Featured Replies

Hi,

About to order a vrs with full leather but premature bolster wear worries me. Had it on my golf at 12k no matter what i did the right side driver seat base bolster looked like it had done 40k. Imo it ages the inside of the car quickly. Any pics please of vrs seats with a few miles on the clock for comparison? Does it wear well? Yes, i know it stretches etc but not found a audi/vw group car with really good quality, durable leather seats.

Heres one i lifted off the internet stating it has 500 miles on it, note its half leather and 'stretch marks'

Mine has the exact same stretch marks.  It had them almost from new. Now 10 months old and used daily and they have not changed at all and no sign of any wear.

No issues on mine yet with 700 miles on the clock but I can imagine it will wear as I'm already conscious of putting a lot of my backside on it when I get out. The bolster is quite high and if you are parked where you can't open the drivers door fully I end up putting a lot of my weight onto the bolster as I get out. I'm only 12st but reckon it won't take long before it gets warn and out of shape.

What I would comment is that you can get new panels stitched in. My ex wife had an MG ZT-T a few years back and that bolster got a tear in it somehow. Got a new one put in at a car upholsterers, can't remember exactly how much, but think it was less than £100

You could always use the FH handle to swing into & outta the drivers seat, it would also have the added benefit of increasing your right arm and core strength or, you could just accept life is a compromise and **** is gonna happen.
