Any reason to wire up a fuse from the fans?

Featured Replies

While taking my car to pieces I noticed a red wire going to the engine bay with a spade connector on, it was wrapped up and pushed behind the airbox.

I followed the wire back which lead to the fuse 68 - fresh air blower ie the fans inside the car. Pulled the fuse out which takes the live out of the wire in the engine bay and obviously turns the fans off.

My question is, why would anyone do that?!

A bodgers way to wire in something like stereo equipment/neons etc........

It's been put through the bulkhead and into the engine bay that's all. Didn't know if it was common when fitting hids or so thing like that to wire in a "switched live" or somthing.

Can't see any reason why it would be there!
