Hi there, maybe someone's got an idea (he hopes). Noticed that both my wing mirror's heating has stopped. I checked here and read quite a few threads but couldn't find anything with this issue. My fuse (#38) is OK and the reading on the elements seems OK. I checked on the cables at the mirrors but no power there. I am sure (had the car for 12 years from new) that the mirrors used to work via the top setting on on switch on their own (Elegance 1.9TDI). Regardless, I tried all combinations with rear window heating element on/off, rock, toggle, anything, but no power. Soooo, is there anything else I can check? I looked at the switch but not sure how to test it, ie. which pin is what setting. I noticed someone talking about a relay. True? Where is that and which one is it?

PS: the 'moving around bit' of the mirrors works fine

Nope, no change...

Might be worth checking on vcds and changing the heating time for the mirror and see if that affects anything, possibly an output test of it's possible for the mirror.

Broken wire at the hinge point?
