Kessy-does it have a fail safe?

Featured Replies

I know there is a plastic removable piece for the lock barrels to gain entry but is there one for the ignition incase of failure or is it call the towtruck?

When i asked at skoda they said " it will never fail! ":-0

I believe if you hold the key to the start button the chip in the key is read by a sensor in the steering column (the same way your contactless credit card works). So even if the battery is dead in the key or the main antenna is not functioning in the car you can still start it this way.

I've had keyless on my passat and it's been fine for the past 4 years. The only slight issue i had was that one of the key fobs stopped operating the boot release

The immboliser part of the key is normally passive (not requiring battery power) and separate from remote entry.
