Fuel filter change today

Featured Replies

I did my fuel filter today finally and to my surprise it was the original one from 2002!! needless to say the petrol coming out was black! so worth checking yours if you haven't already.

How long have you had the car?

When i had my mk1 octavia vrs i replaced the fuel filter & to my surprise it was the original,my car had 120k on the clock & was 6 years old when i serviced it & it had a full skoda dealer history. I recently replaced my filter on my mk2 vrs @ 55k & 6 years old & the fuel that came out of that was a rusty brown in colour as well.

I've had the car about 15 months, I dunno why I never checked it when I first got it really! car has done 130k as well.

Should cut it open and see what its like inside :)

With proper precautions of course :)

Clips? How were the clips?

Clips? How were the clips?

Might actually jack mine up tomorrow and fit the filter i bought in feb 2013 when i bought the car

Clips come off easy with my fuel clip tool ;), yeah I will get the hacksaw on it soon.

Glad you were careful with those clips.

Somebody had to mention the clips didnt they................. :D

Can the clips be a problem then? :D

Going to get myself a fuel clip tool for next time. I change mine every year, probably overkill, but for peace of mind, it`s worth it.

Worth doing once every 2-3 years :)
