Which Petrol Model

Featured Replies

Travelled up to Fords of Windsford today to have a look at a couple. Nice place as they give you the keys and leave you to it.

Couple of things that did baffle me was when I clicked the remote to unlock the doors only the drivers would open. I then figured I had to hold the key fob button down whilst opening the passenger doors from the outside. Sure its something simple I'm missing. Also even though I'd unlocked the door the car kept giving off a steady bonging sound. Whats that all about?

Lovely quiet engines (1.4 TSI) but they had both been lease cars and had quite a few scratches on them for the money.

Can be changed in the maxidot menu to unlock all doors on one press amongst many other driver adjustable settings.

Thanks guys. Just need to find the right one now.

I'm a newbie on this forum. But I went from a VX Vectra 2.0DTi 2003 with 161k. I went through 3x Dual Mass Flywheels in 5 years. The cost of running the VX was getting silly. I was determined to get a petrol engine, NO DMF or DPF, even though I do lots of miles. I did some research and got myself a 1.4 TSi, 2011 Elegance..Its a cracking motor, really smooth and it gives me an average of 45 mpg, my old Vectra was giving me 47mpg. Also its chain driven, so there's no cam belt to change..Happy Days... :D

I've got the tfsi vrs and very happy with it.

+1.

Not my car, it's SWMBO's (2011 facelift TSi 2.0 litre + DSG) but it's a hoot to drive when in the mood, but docile as a kitten when we are in "relaxed" mode.

Average mpg = 36+, so we're happy with that too.

Liking the idea of the timing chain, like the good old days. Also been told these engines didn't suffer with the tensioner problem either.
