Pre Wash

Featured Replies

Hi All

Looking at pre wash/APC options.

Wondered what people use?

Valet Pro Citrus Pre Wash?

Also looked at PowerMaxed TFR? Anyone tried this? Not 100% but worried this may strip the LSP?

Thoughts welcome.

Auto Finesse Citrus Power does a nice job for me.

Demon Shine Rapid Dirt Shifter is a surprise performer at the non bulk purchase available in Supermarket class. Does the job of posher brands and occasionally come up at a steal at the £2-3 a litre mark.

Neither of the above have proven to heavily degrade wax LSP.

Thanks Sparkly!

Ive used both products, Mark recommends..currently use VP Citrus dispensed from a Hozelock Garden Sprayer

Its really effective and LSP safe

I use it mainly when the car is covered in salt in the Winter

Spray with Citrus on the lower areas of the car

Apply Snow Foam

Rinse

Wash with TBM

Rinse

Dry

Also Demon Shine RDS is equally as good

I bought from Morrisons last year when they were selling them for £2 each..Bought the last 10 bottles in the store!!

I wouldnt pay Halfords prices for it

+1 for Valet Pro Citrus here! Excellent for the lower body panels through autumn+winter

Thanks as always chaps!

Youre welcome Andy

A good sprayer, I find is essential too

As said..I use this and find it brilliant and light to use:

Hozelock-New-1.25L-Standard-Pump-Pressur

The Citrus needs to be diluted too

Thanks Chris. Where can I buy one of these?

Ignore my last message. Long day at work! I got off my lazy butt and searched! £15 delivered on eBay. Ta.

+2 for the VP Citrus. A fantastic scent and it seems to do about as good a job as snowfoam.

I might have to look at getting that sprayer too, as the brass lance split on my Lidl pump sprayer (only £7, so not exactly premium quality). That looks a much more usable size too.

I use Autofinesse Citrus Power as it always does the job in my opinion :)

I use something like that from Autosmart to apply Tardis, but I have never bothered with anything apart from a good rinse with the pressure washer to remove the real claggy bits, before giving a snow foam.  I thought the idea of snow foam is to do the loosening up of muck?

Youre right Jason, but this does remove more a\sa well as loosen and is another Pre Wash option and/or another step towards the 'Holy Grail'..... hands free washing

...One day maybe !!

AF Citrus Power is the best I have used, but it's not very economical. I current use AD Citrus diluted down in a 1.5L pump sprayer, it's much more economical & nearly as good as AF. I've just bought some VP Citrus as I expect i'll need it soon. I only use it as a pre, pre wash when the car is covered in road salt.
