Good afternoon!

Hi,

I have been a member for a year but only posted once before after someone crashed into my driver's side this time last year. As my car comes to the end of its warranty however I suspect I will be on here for more technical advice in the future!

I own a Fabia Monte Carlo 1.6TDI in Brilliant Silver. It's possibly the unluckiest Monte Carlo out there- it's been in for EGR issues three times, been crashed into on the driver's side by someone pulling out of a parking space, had a fence collapse onto the other side and the air con has died. The wife has also put a big scratch up one side with an umbrella trying to get in whilst staying dry in a storm. All has been well for the last few months, however.

That's it when it was 6 months old. I really look after it, but we're about to head off on our annual thanksgiving trip to Scotland (my wife is American) from Derbyshire. We had a great time up there last year on the Glenshee road, but also a few hairy moments. The Scottish Roads were unkind in terms of filth-

The local drivers were mean to it too-

But this year, after some issues with ungritted roads I've gone and ruined the look of the thing before I've even set off with some winter tyres and wheels. Where we live now in rural Derbyshire makes them a bit more important than they were last year-

We also used to own a Citigo as my wife's first car since she got a UK license. Considering her last car was a 1993 Cadillac Deville the size of a small ship it was quite a change! Sadly she decided to become a student again and we had to get rid. She now owns a 2002 Mazda MX5 which is fun in a very different way! We saw the Citigo for the first time since we'd sold it the very day we went to buy her new car.
