TT Comps with Brembo's - spacers required?

Featured Replies

As per title topic really. I've bought some 17" TT Comps which I'm going to get refurbed before fitting.

Then I'll be fitting them along with some rebuilt Brembo's off a LCR.

Is anyone running or has run this setup at any point? Are spacers required for clearance with these alloys? If so what size?

Cheers :)

Spacers will be needed.   I can only just get TD pro race 3's over brembo's without spacers, to make my TD 1.2's fit I had to buy 15mm spacers.

i got TT comps with tarox 6 pots and i dun run any spacers

If no-one knows the exact amount I'll just have to do a trial run and take some measurements before hand.

I believe the Tarox's don't stick out as much as the Brembo's, hence not needing any.

If I could find someone close to me with those wheels I would happily try them on the Golf to see what clearance we have.  Anybody on Merseyside?

If I remember correctly the TT Comps are ET32? If so then you should be able to get away with 5mm maybe even none... I was looking for when I had Brembos but went in a different direction before being sure.

James, no need to put yourself out fella! I'll just measure it myself if no-one knows. Cheers though :)

Indeed TT Comps are ET32. Fingers crossed I can get away with it. Could do without the extra expense - spent enough on this car the last few months!!

I know TT Reps would not go anywhere near when I fitted my Brembo's and the Pro Race 3's are so close you can just about get a fag paper between the wheel and calliper. I have 15 mm spacers for the Pro Race 1.2's and these are the same with the spacers on, about a fag paper clearance.

Finger crossed for the Comps then :-/   I'll get Dan to come round and loan me his spacers for 5 minutes!

They clear brembo calipers as stock. I have them over my 6 pots now too.

I was about to say they'll clear them, 99% sure as that was my next set of wheels lined up. My pro race 3's cleared my brembos fairly comfortably too.

I have 5mm, 10mm and 15mm ones you can try mate! :)

You can't tell just by the ET though,as its spoke design/thickness that causes most caliper clearance issues,ET does not take into account the size/thickness/design of spokes.

Actually... you could always just try the Comps on yours seeing as you already have Brembo's ;)

Now that's a bloody good idea, why didn't we think of this sooner?!
