Drive Mode Button Not Working...

Featured Replies

Here's a new one (I think)... went out this evening to the local Indian restaurant to pick up our Saturday night curry, and the drive mode button didn't work.  It was lit up as I leave it in individual most of the time, and when I pressed it, it just blinked but nothing came up on the screen to allow me to change modes.  I stopped the car, turned the ignition off and back on, and it still didn't work.  After coming out of the restaurant, I started the car, tried again and it worked, but there was a half-second delay before the mode selection screen came up.  Half way home I tried again, and the screen came up immediately.

Anyone else had anything similar?  I just hope it was an oddity, and nothing serious, but I'd been thinking for the last couple of days that the button had been temperamental - i.e. not always responding when I pressed it - so I'm beginning to get a little worried.

Mine seems a bit finicky, although I've never had it not work at all. I almost always have to push the button 2 or 3 times to get the mode selection screen come up. That's on the first time I press it on a drive, after the initial indecision it seems to come right. Hasn't bothered me but I've often it down in my "things to mention at the first service" list.

Hi

Just wondered if you've had any more instances of this.

Mine first stopped responding last night... I turned off and on the engine and the mode option came back to life.

This morning it isn't responding to me at all I've turned the engine off and on several times but its not brought it back to life, the central screen no longer displays the mode I've set in the top left.

I'll see how it goes for the rest of the week. I'm hoping its just some kind of firmware/software issue that an upgrade will rectify it.

Only thing I'm slightly glad about is I'm not the only one... so here's hoping its a warrantee job.

Cheers

Nope... it's been fine since.  That's probably not what you wanted to hear though, sorry!

No problems with mine - I'm now using the DIY mode !! (Sport for engine and normal for everything else.)

Its sucks you've got an intermittent electrical gremlin in the system. Hope its gone forever.

Off topic, what was your diving mode strategy for curry pickup. Save fuel on outward journey, time attack sport mode home to preserve curry temp?  :D

You climbing in my estimations Ed, good man, personally I like sport for steering too but each to their own.
