Just bought myself a Felicia pickup :)

Featured Replies

Thought I'd say hello, just bought this today as second car as my Fabia is getting ruined driving it to work etc.

It's a 1.6 petrol. Ideally I wanted a diesel, but this was at the right price. It's very rusty unfortunately but Wil price up the welding in the next month or so.

Here is a picture of the beast :)

Thanks Tom :)

Let the modifications begin....

Did some mpg calculations on a trip to Yorkshire last month. A six day trip of around 800 miles coming back via London. Best tankful 42mpg on fairly steady A road driving, worst was 32 driving round London. Average of about 37 for the whole trip so yeah, about 40 if your careful but not round town.

That's pretty good, anything over 35 I'm super happy with. Thanks for the info :)

Indeed, rust needs attention first. The two front wings and tailgate mainly. After that I'll be spraying it! Probably next week!

Looks nice. What are the plans?

First plans are get rid of this engine tapping noise, replace the thermostat, change the two front wings and respray it.

Not sure weather to just use a load cover or a Truckman.

Ah okay. Timing chain and a full service then by the sounds of it. I look forward to seeing further progress. :)

I'm pretty sure its belt driven as it's the 1.6mpi, but I may be wrong! Come to think of it, it does sound a little like what my 1.3mpi sounded like. Started a project thread :)

The 1.6 has a belt.

Couldn't even tell you why I thought you said it had the 1300 lump! Sorry hehe.

At least the 1.6 has most of the bits needed for the 1.4 16v conversion :)

It makes sense... Cheaper tax, and you get around 45mpg from that engine too.

If you declare it to the dvla of course.......

Just bought a truckman top, they are excellent ! Just keep an eye on eBay for a local and good condition one, I had been looking for a couple months.

There is a good condition one near me, a genuine Truckman and its £100 not sure if it's a good price or not though. Would love one to be able to put the dogs in the back!

I definitely want to do it. Not sure how long it'd take me.

How many bits need Fabrication, Tom?

Drivers side engine mount is the only custom part you need to make
