Detachable Westfalia Towbar for Octavia 2

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Thought i'd share this.... I wanted a detachable towbar and was quoted £750 by my local Skoda dealers (Edinburgh) after much searching I found an eBay shop in Germany and got the towbar and wiring kit for £254.08 delivered!!

(This was for the 7 pin kit but they also offer 13 pin)

Enjoy!

I've just ordered a genuine Skoda detachable bar and genuine Skoda controller and 13 pin electrics socket (with aftermarket wiring loom) from Skodateile for less than that.

Admittedly its for a Yeti, but the Octavia one is the same price.

A westfallia? You did well!

Share the info :)

Do you need to re-program the car in any way for fitting a tow bar ?

Towbar no, but the electrics will.

Thanks, I thought so, that's why I haven't fitted one !

If you update your location beyond 'UK', someone (like myself) may be local and be able to code it for you with VCDS.

If you don't want to update your location, look at the VCDS owner's map on this forum and contact some people who would be willing to help.

So it's fitted and the lights work. What does the re-program offer? (and is it easy to do with VCDS?)
