16684 16686 Code...

Featured Replies

Hi,

Posted here a while back about the errors I had and the EML that had come up.

16684 and 16686 have come back! There isn't a misfire and the EML hasn't come up, if I clear the codes they come back up again but I have no idea why.

The injector on cyl 2 has been changed, coil packs changed, spark plugs changed, wiring checked and is fine, leakdown test done and fine... absolutely no idea what's left!

Any ideas?

What state is the camshaft position sensor and connector in?, had this code once when I had a poor connection to the sensor.

I'm not sure to be fair, today 17704 came up and the eml flashed a bit, going to change coolant temp sensor in the next couple of days. How would I check the camshaft position sensor?

A visual check on the connection to make sure it is not broken or green with corrosion, after that it is down to checks with VCDS for output and function.

Changed the coolant temp sensor today (thanks to a guide on here) and all of the codes have gone now! Not quite sure why, will check again in a couple of days but I'm a happy chap!

16684 and 16686 came back with a CEL, sometimes feels like its boosting a bit weirdly. Reckon it could be a vacuum leak somewhere?
