B0Rked Seatbelt Buckle

Featured Replies

It really isn't my week... following on from the mode button shenanigans (which hasn't happened again, thankfully), now the driver's seatbelt won't buckle up.  The mechanism just doesn't 'grab' it and so it comes straight out again.  Seriously not impressive for a car that's less than 3 months old, and I'm not quite sure how to go about getting it sorted out - I assume it can be fixed/replaced under warranty, but how do I get it to the dealer if I can't drive it because I can't use the seatbelt?

Get them to come to you and bring a replacement vehicle with them!

Does it clip into the passenger side OK?  Not ideal but safer than none at all for a short trip to the dealer.

Call Skoda recovery. It's illegal to be driven (by you or the dealers driver) so tell them it needs picked up.

Daft thought though... Have you checked nothing has fallen into the buckle? Might be worth getting a torch for a look see

a 5p maybee?

Soooo... finally got this sorted. Turns out it was a metal bit of one of the zip tags on my new coat (no idea when that happened).  Mechanic fished it out in about 5 minutes and handed it to me with a smirk on his face...

Well owned up sir! Glad it was nothing serious.

Really from your coat, whilst I'm not entirely sure I need to know but, WFT were you undoing your zipper for in a new car, Christening process ?

Has Mrs Wiggo asked the same question yet !

Yes, really from my coat!  From the zip on the left-hand pocket... so I evidently got it caught up as pushed it into the buckle as I was trying to do my seatbelt up at some point...

THAT'S MY STORY AND I'M STICKING TO IT.   :notme:
