I've got filthy doors

Featured Replies

The insides of my doors are part plastic part aluminium look plastic and part woven material--like on the arm rests. Where my forearm rests and the same on the other side for my wife the rather sackcloth like weave of the material is badly impregnated with skin which has rubbed off in the hot weather.

Ive brushed it and vacuumed it --no good at all . In fact if I took the armrests off and boiled them with some veg I could make a passable soup.

Next I think I will get warm soapy water and scrub them.

Will this be wise ? Any better Ideas please.

And if I do get them clean how do I keep them that way.? I think this is a bad bit of design myself.

TIA

My vRS had daft white carpets [honestly' date= who needs white carpets in a car!] and the best cleaner was "1001" in a pump action spray bottle [i.e. not an aerosol] from any old supermarket. Spray it on, scrub the foam about with a small rough sponge, wipe off the surplus suds and let it dry out. Like new! [still bloody white though.]

I've used Orange cleaner, i think by mr muscle works ok

I have a similair gripe with the plastic on the door, the part at the bottom of the glass, the other elbow rest! Its the skin thing, the plastic isn't smooth so grates the elbow leaving white marks,

I don't have the same issue with the cloth as I have leather.
