Hi Folks, 

 

I've recently installed a reversing camera on my Superb Combi (which involved attacking the tailgate with a Dremel :peek:) . All of the hardware is in (camera: 5N0 627 566, camera control module: 5N0 907 441A, camera fixing bracket: 3C9 827 229C) and the cable has been run and plugged into the back of the Columbus unit. Power supply to the controller is connected and can-hi & can-low are also connected. 

 

Due to a lack of info on this, its all been a little experimental up until now. 

 

The problem I am having is the coding of the 6C backup camera controller, despite my best efforts, the controller will not accept ANY coding changes whatsoever, i keep getting the 'out of range' error code. I have tried non zero WSC/Importer codes etc. but no luck. 

 

I've registered the camera controller in the canbus gateway (6C backup cam) but the coding is the main issue, it also throws up an error code 01042 (control module not coded). 

 

Via the measuring blocks, the controller can read the steering angle, reversing signal etc so I know it's alive in that respect. 

 

I've tinkered with a few settings in the park/steer assist to allow for the camera's presence but it all comes back to the total inability to change any coding on the controller. 

 

Can anyone suggest anything? other than smashing it with a hammer? is it borked, perhaps? I've attached my latest scan if it helps.

Interestingly, I just tried connecting a 7N0 camera controller and I get exactly the same issue. I can change any of the adaptations with no problem but I cannot change the coding at all. Seeing as 2 different controllers are behaving the same way, I am thinking maybe it is the CAN gateway causing the issue? 

 

Still hitting the brick wall on this one......

I will try to help you on this as I just fitted a RVC to my Tiguan. I followed this thread and my headunit is a RNS315 (same as Amundsen plus).

I am sure I read somewhere the VW controller can't be used on a Skoda hence why there are no models listed.

 

 

Did anyone come up with a solution? - I have this exact same issue, installation all went well, but as dstev2000 says,

"6C backup camera controller.. will not accept ANY coding changes whatsoever, i keep getting the 'out of range' error code. 

and

I've registered the camera controller in the canbus gateway (6C backup cam) but the coding is the main issue, it also throws up an error code 01042 (control module not coded). "

 

Also my Optical Parking system display has disappeared.. just makes beeping sounds now.

 

Any ideas welcome!!

I fitted a RVC to our SII estate -

I have attached the VCDS of the 6C controller after calibration.

 

If your OPC is suddenly playing up and you should not have done anything to it for the RVC installation, go back to the last coding where the OPC was working and delete the DTCs. Otherwise it may have coincidentally become faulty.
