Bit of a daft question, that daft in fact that I almost can't believe I'm asking it but what diverter valve have people got and what does it sound like?!

Reason I'm asking is that on my VRS I've got a bailey diverter valve, mounted in the standard position and a Jabba induction kit.

TBH, I've always thought it sounds crap, that crap I've often thought about just putting a standard airbox back on but I realise the diverter valve and the induction kit are there fora reason and so left it alone.

Anyway, the other morning I nipped down the road to the shops and for some reason the diverter had stuck shut and I was just getting the turbo flutter noise when lifting off the thottle rather than the usual loud tiiiiish! Sounded miles better!!

I've since stripped and cleaned the valve and replaced a couple of clips and now have the anoying noise back!

So, whats everybody else running and sound do you get??

Does mounting the diverter valve on the cold side make any difference?

Forge 007 with pipercross panel filter in the airbox. Mine's audible but not chav-tastic. Don't think it would be heard too well from another car or outside as a pass...not sure how to explain, it is a reassuring tsss, in a calm way lol, sounds like it's working properly basically. I've been thinking about doing the whackbox (however you spell it) but not had the balls yet, don't think I will but apparently it gives the airbox and panel noises like induction.

Yep. I previously drilled a load of holes in the bottom of my airbox and it did sound like an induction kit! Worked quite well at the time but thats long gone now...

Mine basically sounds like a bus!!

I'll have to have a listen to one with a 007 on it see if theres any difference....

Does moving it to the cold side quieten it down?
