Coding tow bar

Featured Replies

So I had my VRS in on Monday for my town at to be coded. It was originally missed when installed at the dealer. Got a phone call to say it was done and they dropped it off at work. Got in the car to drive home and guess what, the rear sensor now don't work at all. Going back in tomorrow and hopefully will be sorted. Also noticed at lane assist now doesn't work. Guessing an apprentice did the coding!!!

If the apprentice needs help, some budding amateurs worked it out properly! Tow Bar Coding

Ha yes I had the above VCDS screenshots ready to hand when I had my towbar guy come back to code by Octy. Unfortunately he didn't have a laptop or VCDS.

He did however have some kind of Westfalia machine (with 3 lines of digit screen)  which although we couldn't be sure, think it managed to do all of what was necessary.

I don't know if it has done anything with the ABS or owt though as I am only using a bike rack.

That has reminded me, I need to add a screenshot of the lane assist coding to the thread

Lincoln but work in Leeds. Was gonna give you a PM to get other options switched on but its a company car and not sure where I'd stand. Apparently they've had to order a module and it'll be 2 weeks

Jeez - Lincoln to Leeds!

I'm in Chesterfield on Saturday if you want me to take a look?

Is there a risk in doing any adaptations? The company car bit worried me if something went wrong

Nah - they wouldn't even know!

My old car I have just traded in had all sorts of wonderful tweaks (DRLs flashing on indicating, 2 rear fogs, rain closing) enabled and it went in for 2 services and the dealer didn't even notice!

I put it all back to factory before I traded it in.

I'll see how they get on with the "new part" and go from there. Thanks for the offer though

Latest update. Just realised that after the garage sent the car back still broken, I now have an intermittent fault on the touch screen. Sometimes it works but other times it takes about 2-3 hrs to start working. It's going back in tomorrow so let's see what they break next

Definitely. Car came back and now apparently needs a new loom. My guess is that whoever fitted the tow bar cut through the tow bar prep and now they need to replace that part of the loom. Horton of Lincoln is my local dealer and they'll be getting my custom from now on

Name and Shame time!

Will do once it's fixed. Glad It wasn't my money for the car as I'd be proper pi**ed with the service I've had. Guess they've new heard of the concept of after sales.

Give them 14 days to fix it and then reject the car - they will **** themselves if they cut through a loom in error!

Latest update and had car for 2 days now. Should get back tomorrow but I'm guessing they'll have broken something else

If the forum wasn't so broken at the moment I would like the above post :)

Hot car back after 3 days and all looks to be well except for the Amundsen screen stops working. Guess it's going in again
