Has anyone tried these? I've found them for £150 a tyre, which seems pretty good if you believe the RRP, but they might be cheap for a reason....

Generally speaking Vredstein's are a good, European made tyre. I have the SnowTrac 2s on my car at the moment. Are you going to run these just as winters? If not look at the Quatrac which is an 'all seasons' tyre from the same manufacturer.

 

Not sure what size you are running, but it must be crazy if £150 a corner is cheap!

Is it on 225/40 R 18 (W92) now.

 

& is that the size you are going with for winters?

the wintrac xtreme is an excellent tyre

better snow/ice performance than snowtrac 3, and have awesome dry/cold performance

true high performance winter tyre

if the s version is better then that would be very impressive

150/corner is steep though

It's cheap for a 235 X 35 W19!

George, my tyres don't do them in the size I want, and I'm not about to spend 1/3 of the time I own the car on cheap 18" alloys, or worse steel wheels.

Does it have Bridgestone Potenza on now?

 

It looks like the £150 is a good price in 235/35 R 19 if that is fitted.

From the brief look I had you could save about £10/corner by going for Wintrac Xtremes instead of the S version

When you do change Tyre Width & Profile do not go by the Numbers on the tyres & online Calculators.

 

Physically compare side be side, 

because even different Brands & Tyre types that are marked 235/35 R 19 can be rather different side by side.

Total Diameter & Rolling Circumference.

Already done this. I'm never going to do >120 on winter tyres.
