Hello. I know it's a bit cheeky but I need a bit of a "duffer's guide" to what to look out for when buying a 2007 Octavia 1.6 FSI Estate.

 

My brother in law is going to be looking at the car tomorrow. Are there any specific items to check on the FSI engine? Is a 2007 1.6 a timing belt or timing chain engine?

Rusty Sills. All pre FL have an issue

It is a timing chain. Also, it is designed / tuned to run on super unleaded for best performance. It will run on standard unleaded but it will have less power.
