car unlocks on its own or am i going mad?

Featured Replies

There has been a few times recently when i have gone out to car in morning pressed unlock button and it hasnt made the usual noise because it was already unlocked.

I thought maybe it was me maybe pushing the wrong button when locking the car (which would be wierd as ive had the car three years), but the other night i definately locked the car as i checked for the immob light flashing.

Imagine my shock this morning when i go out to the car to find it unlocked again and someone had been through my glove box.

Is this a common problem/easy fix, as the only entries i found were when the car unlocks and windows are down.

thanks

When you got it 3 years ago,

was that with both the keys from the previous 6 years?

Yeah the other key is in the house in buried somewhere with original documents.

Where you thinking original owner might have found the car?

I dont think it will be opening its self as it would detect the car were not opened and re-lock.

Maybe your not locking it correctly when you get out?

Do u lock it twice ? I press the button once hear the noise then press it again and it makes a different noise. Think it must be a dead lock or something

Yeah always lock it twice light the lights flash then press again till it makes louder lock sound or least i think i do. Its locked now i will just keep an eye on it.

I used to blame my nephew as i used to find it unlocked after hed been, but he hasnt been this weekend.

so either im going senile and pressing unlock to lock it, or there is a fault with maybe the key or the car.
