Painting mesh black - Hammerite do it OK?

Featured Replies

I can't really spray my mesh black, due to cost, messiness if I did it. So thought I might give it a shot with a fine paint brush and a tin of black hammerite I just found.

Any comments before I begin? Bad move?

I would mask up the bumper and spray it satin black for best results.

Yeah, might speak to matey when he polishes up the bumper. He might be able to do it with the FMIC and bumper in situ. I just saw this tin as I was walking through my porch and the lightbulb came on.

Is hammerite really that bad a finish compared to a good satin black spray job? I might go and check out my support bar as that was satin'd - that might persuade me not to don my brush and D.I.Y it. :)

you can buy a teflon type of satin black spray on paint (thicker than normal spray so doesn't chip as easily) -i used some a while ago to spray some mesh (got it from a local accessory garage)
