Black HTC Desire C Smartphone Unlocked Rooted for RSAP

Featured Replies

I am selling my black HTC Desire C mobile phone which is unlocked to all networks and running Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The phone is around 12 months old, is in perfect working order and in great condition. It has always had a screen protector on since new (replaced monthly) and a silicone case to keep it in great condition. I will put a brand new screen protector on prior to sale.

It comes in its original box with instructions, headphones, USB lead and charger. I will also throw in the silicone case if required.

I have unlocked the bootloader officially through htcdev.com and rooted the phone purely to install the software to allow the phone to be used with RSAP only Bluetooth phone modules. I have not added any software recovery or any custom ROM as it’s running the original HTC ROM which I prefer.

This worked perfectly with my RSAP only Bluetooth mobile phone module 5NO 035 730 B fitted to my 2009 Skoda Octavia. You will have to download the Bluetooth SIM access profile app from the Google Play Store which costs £7.49 as I cannot transfer this from my Play account to the phone or another Play account. Support can be found at www.android-rsap.com and this thread that I started http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/310772-factory-fit-bluetooth-and-htc-desire-c/

The only issue that I have found since rooting the phone is that you have to have the fast boot activated if you like to turn the phone off at night. You will also need an apps2SD type app to be able to store your apps on your micro SD card. I have fast boot activated and store all my apps on the phone so this doesn’t bother me.

I also have a Brodit passive car mount, item 511420 for this phone which I will include if collecting although you would need a Brodit Pro Clip specific to your vehicle (the mount does come with screws to attach to a Pro Clip, any other mount of your choice or direct to your dashboard if you are brave)

Please feel free to PM me with any questions.

so this doesn’t bother me however if it does, once you have downloaded the Bluetooth SIM access profile app and everything works OK you can unroot the phone and relock the bootloader.

I'm faraid that wouldn't work. The rSAP app requests root each time you use it. If it looses root access it won't work. I have done the same on my xperia Z and use the rSAP app. But I always root my phones anyway.

OK thanks Phil, my understanding was that it only needed root access to install and then could be unrooted however this is obviously not the case. I have edited the above post to reflect this.

Thanks again.
