Hi,

Vrs mk2 56 plate

Just started to notice big whine from engine, it only stops when I put air con mode to econ and then nothing....

What can it be? Airccon pump ? Bearing ?

I have this too, got a leak somewhere most likely from the condenser, the system whines when there's no gas in. Worth getting it re-gassed and seeing if the noise goes away.

Condenser replacement is pretty expensive too unfortunately.

Jesus, how much are we talking ? Did u fix yours ?

No not sorted mine yet, putting it off as costs seems to be around £6-700.

 

Might not be the same for yours though, when was it last re-gassed? Could just need a re-gas.

not been regassed in my time.... might be that i hope
