Alloy wheel fitments

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Looking for some different alloys, can anyone advise what the effect of fitting alloys with a 45 offset would be? Iirc the the standard alloys (Neptunes) are 52. So would a 45 offset wheel sit further out towards the wheel arch?

Cheers!

Yes - if wheel rim width and tyre size the same.

Looking at 8.5 x 19 with 235 35 tyres.

its the combination of the width AND the offset that define where they will sit in the arch, you need to consider both together.

simplest way to work it out is with an on-line calculator, lots available, e.g.:  http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator

I've got C Class 17"s with 245/45 and 225/45 tyres if interested, they're the same 5 stud spacing (it is on the mk2 Octy) the rears were on with 5-7 mm spacers (which I've got). Ive put 205/55/16s back on as I prefer comfort, I'll also be taking the lowered spring off and putting standards back on too
