Audi S3 8v engine in a vRS - how easy?

Featured Replies

As per title really - how much of a job would it be? I guess some of the plumbing would be different.

I went for an S3 8P engine in the end. It is turning into an escalation of commitment as I consider the need for a downpipe, intercooler and naturally a remap but am waiting to see if there are any other gotchas first. I will probably have the cam belt changed right at the outset possibly easier with the engine out of the car. I will have a lot of TSI engine bits for sale afterwards.

Has anyone done this please?

I spoke to Alex at AKS and he thinks it has been done but is probably too difficult as the original TSI engine is very different to the TFSI engine out of the FL vRS on both ECU and loom connections.

Big disappointment face on at the moment :-(.
