Bodywork Warranty?

Featured Replies

I have a 56 Plate, and one of the sills has rust coming through and paint flaking off at the front...

Is the Skoda warranty like VWs of 12yrs? And is it irrelevant how many people, and who, previously owned the car? (Ex Police, not patrol though)

Not sure I can afford to have it repainted at the moment, but don't really want to leave it!

If the rust is just above the stone chip paint and below the doors then there is a big thread on this if you have a hunt about.

I don't think many people have had success claiming on the corrosion warranty since it's likely to be stone chips hitting unprotected paint.

On pre FL cars the stone chip paint wasn't applied hight enough, if you look at a FL you can see the chip paint goes right to the door.

This was one of the major reasons I decided to move my car on.

I have recently had both sills and boot lid done under the 12 year anti corrosion warranty. Took a lot of work and emails back and forth mind you but the garage that did the work were faultless. I did have to cough up £140 ish for the spoiler mind you as that is only covered under the 3 year paint warranty. I got the garage to apply the stone chip as high if not slightly higher than that of the FL.

Skoda were playing silly buggers to begin with so I read them the riot act and quoted the 'corrosion warranty policy'. After a few emails and numerous photos of the effected areas they agreed to do the drivers sill and boot lid initially, but I wasn't happy with this decision as it was based on a very small ding in the passenger sill that had no link whatsoever to the corrosion. This is when I turned on the charm and mangaged to get Steph (lovely lady) on the case to sort out the issue. I basically said you can't expect me to drive around with one new shiny sill and one rusty old sill based on a tiny ding that's not even in the equation now can you, she went back to the warranty team and aired my frustration then got back to me the following day to say they would do it all????

Maybe the fact that I'd mentioned 'Briskoda' in most of our conversations that got them thinking oh **** bad press travels fast!!!
