vRS to 1.8T ECU swap

Featured Replies

Apologies if this has been asked a gazillion times but can you simply swap the ECU from a Vrs to a 2001 1.8T 4x4 car? There's a scrunched 2003 Vrs in my local scrapper and I was hoping a

Nope. :(

Pretty sure you'd need all the vRS wiring and stuff to run the ECU, and the vRS engine, clocks, ignition, key, ahem.... Someone else will confirm this but I believe it is a non-goer.

Why not save a little more money and take the car to Jabbasport, etc and get over 200bhp with a remap?

There are more differences in the 180 bhp AUQ engine than just the engine ECU programme im afriad.

thanks - it'll have to be the jabba/revo route then - tha car is a 70k miler, i don't want to get into the area of overstressing engine internals, has anyone run this engine remapped upto say 100k? i'd be interested to hear your results.

ta v much

Over on SCN, there was someone with a Leon Cupra who had it Jabba'd, and then proceeded to put well over 100k on the clock - think it was approaching 150k... had no problems with it even when he sold it.
