Fried door control module replaced, recoding?

Featured Replies

I have replaced the Door Control Module left side rear, after the old one got fried by water ingress.

The power window works great, but the central locking on the door does not work, I even tried a brand new central locking unit (just connected the harness without actually putting it in the door)..

I have checked all wires from the pillar to the door and from the control module to the central locking unit, all wires measures ok.

So I have beginning to think the Door Control Module might need to be programmed/coded to the car?

Thanks

Could be the microswitch in the lock that has failed, which is a common problem on mk1 Octy's.

You mean the switch inside the locking unit? Skoda+octavia+door+lock+actuator.jpg

If so, shouldn't it work with a new one?

I have checked with Vagcom now, it get a response from the locking unit when I activate the child safety, it also registers if the door is open/closed and if it's locked or not..

But the central locking doesn't work, no sound from neither the new unit or the installed one when I try to unlock/lock with remote or driver keypad (all other doors works)..

Just like it either never gets the command to unlock/lock or no power is sent from the door control module (I don't get any DTC's from the door either)
