Just taxed the Rapid

Featured Replies

My first year of road tax (the free one) runs out on Jan 1st, and my renewal V11 arrived in the post today.

Decided to set it up on monthly direct debit (works out at £9.63 a month and only a fiver more per year than paying it outright), very painless to do, and monthly DD will be recurring so I don't need to redo it in a year from now.

Anything that means I don't have to deal with counter staff in a Post Office is good in my book.

Use the village post office myself; helps keep it in existence.

Nothing but bad service from all the post offices close to home and the office - putting themselves out of business in my view.

Road tax, TV licence, sending parcels, foreign currency, passport renewals - all stuff I now actively do elsewhere to avoid interacting with both Post Office Counters & Royal Mail.

Post office is a rip off.

Our post office lady's think they own you. They make everything difficult with a sour face. I thought it was just our post office.

Anyway, revenge was served when they had a sewage breach a month ago and were closed for ages due to the stench. Lol

I think I can only do mine annually as my road tax is £30

Don't need to bother with DD's. Mine's only £30 :D

We have a great Post Office at Hadley in Telford .   It's open 7/11 pm and run in a Tesco store , still don't like paying car tax though .

£30 for me too

Yeah - no point doing instalments on the £30 tax (don't think they even offer it, just annual DD at that price). With the tax on the standard 1.2TSi being in the £110 range, and with such a small premium for monthly DD, it's a nice, easy and lazy way of making sure the car is taxed on an on-going basis. The monthly DD will keep going until I either sell the car or choose to switch to an annual or half-year payment.
